We Love Huppybars and So Will You!

One of our newest products to hit the site, Huppybars are a good-for-you, easy to pack, and delicious snack that we know you will love just as much as we do!

When we first decided to carry Huppybars at Trail Industries, we sat around the office taste testing all of their flavors. Needless to say, we fell in love. There has never been a better tasting bar to enter any of our mouths… we were hooked!

Not only do Huppybars taste incredible, but they’re also extremely good for you too. The ingredients are some of the cleanest I’ve ever seen on the backside of a wrapper, and that’s something extremely important to me as a consumer but also as a promoter of the product! They will definitely be your go to when you need a pick me up to fuel the rest of your trail adventure!

And I know what you’re thinking… so, which one is your favorite? Well, I can honestly say I truly love them all. But if I had to choose, I would pick the Pecan Orange Spice, AZT Wild Mesquite, and Coconut Date Ginger! I couldn’t just pick one!

Huppybar is the Official Bar of The Arizona Trail

Yep, you heard that right! Pretty cool, right?

At Huppybar’s start, the Executive Director of the Arizona Trail Association reached out to Huppybar to create a bar that celebrated the Arizona Trail. Obviously, they agreed to the collaboration and the AZT Wild Mesquite bar was born. It’s the only Huppybar that is savory, salty, and a bit smoky flavored bar among the rest of the Huppybars that are a bit more sweet.

Here’s what founder, Lyndsay Hupp, had to say about the creation of the AZT Wild Mesquite bar:

“Choosing the right ingredients and their sources to represent AZ and the AZ Trail was paramount. I consulted all my savvy friends on native plant options, but it was quickly apparent that mesquite would be the feature.

Mesquite trees are ubiquitous in the desert regions of the Southwest. It is a plant I had become well acquainted with as a river guide in the Grand Canyon: we used them for shade, to tie up our boats, or chew on a pod occasionally while on a hike.

Beyond my personal connection with the tree, mesquite lays its roots deep in the cultural history of the Southwest. For thousands of years, native people have used the ground bean pods to sustain their families. The Tohono O’odham Nation of Southern Arizona are still doing this today. They wild-harvest in the late summer, and take the ground meal to market at the San Xavier Co-op and Farm. We are excited to be sourcing our mesquite from the San Xavier Co-op and to be supporting the traditional farming practices of the Tohono O’odham Nation.

In addition to mesquite, we feature AZ-grown pecans, AZ-harvested honey, and cayenne chiles from the nice folks atWhipstone Farms who booth next to Huppybar every Sunday at the Flagstaff Community Market. If you don’t feel the energy from the nutrition itself, you will feel it from the hard work and love that has been put into these locally sourced ingredients.”

We truly love Huppybars here at Trail Industries, and we hope you give them a try! Shop all of their flavors in our shop now, just click here!

Happy Trails!
